Community & Events Manager Internship

Startup Basecamp is seeking a part-time online community manager, responsible for providing and developing a high-quality community experience for his membership initiatives.

The Community & Events Manager works closely with SBC’s Founders to develop, coordinate, implement, and oversee all Startup Basecamp events and community programs. Experience in community management, event planning, an understanding of Silicon Valley, and a proactive, resourceful outlook is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Management: greet, introduce, and connect new members to the community.
  • Curate and share daily content in the community forum(s)
  • Organize weekly community events
  • Weekly Event Outreach including via social media channels
  • Website upcoming event listing curation
  • Collect members feedback and implement improvements & new ideas

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and comfortable with getting his/her hands dirty in the work of launching a community—we need someone who is proactive, autonomous, and hungry to learn and grow. The candidate must:

  • Proactive,  hungry to grow & outgoing
  • Be very organized & detailed-oriented
  • Have some degree of community management experience as well as experience organizing events, preferably online
  • Possess basic knowledge and a strong interest and passion in entrepreneurship, startups, & Climate Tech
  • Have experience doing marketing outreach for events & coordinating details from registration to speaker coordination
  • Experience with the following platforms: eventbrite, meetup, zoom (required) and basecamp,airtable, ______ (preferred)
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Love to e-meet new people and have experience with managing and engaging online communities
  • Be a quick-learner and multi-tasker
  • Be hard-working and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  • At ease with social media business platforms including experience managing a Facebook & LinkedIn business group
