Founded: 2021 – Perth, AU

Founder: Matt Callahan, Elaine Darby, David Messina, Cameron Scadding & Stewart Washer

Elevator Pitch: Rumin8 is revolutionizing the livestock industry by developing dietary supplements that reduce methane emissions from ruminant animals. By harnessing naturally occurring compounds, Rumin8 creates feed additives that not only enhance animal health and productivity but also significantly cut down greenhouse gas emissions, paving the way for a more sustainable agricultural future.

Problem they solve: Ruminant animals, such as cows and sheep, produce substantial amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas contributing to climate change. Traditional livestock farming practices exacerbate this issue, leading to high environmental costs. Rumin8 addresses this problem by creating feed additives that reduce methane emissions from livestock, thereby mitigating their environmental impact while maintaining or even improving animal health and productivity.

Impact: Rumin8’s innovative feed additives have the potential to transform the livestock industry by significantly reducing methane emissions, which account for a large portion of agricultural greenhouse gases. By integrating these supplements into livestock diets, Rumin8 helps farmers decrease their carbon footprint, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. This approach not only supports environmental sustainability but also promotes the health and efficiency of livestock, ensuring a viable and eco-friendly future for agriculture.

Stage: Seed.

Founded: 2021 – Evry-Courcouronnes, FR

Founders: Nathaly Rolland & Maya Bedifallah

Elevator Pitch: Nutropy is pioneering the future of dairy by developing sustainable, animal-free dairy ingredients through precision fermentation. Their innovative approach produces real dairy proteins without the environmental and ethical issues associated with traditional dairy farming, offering a delicious and eco-friendly alternative for consumers and food manufacturers.

Problem they solve: Traditional dairy farming is resource-intensive, contributing significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and animal welfare concerns. Nutropy addresses these challenges by using precision fermentation to create dairy proteins that are identical to those found in cow’s milk but without the environmental impact and ethical issues. This technology provides a sustainable solution to meet the growing demand for dairy products while reducing the industry’s ecological footprint.

Impact: Nutropy’s animal-free dairy proteins dramatically reduce the environmental impact associated with dairy production. By eliminating the need for cows, their process significantly cuts down on methane emissions, land use, and water consumption. This sustainable approach not only helps combat climate change but also promotes a more ethical and efficient food system, aligning with global goals for environmental conservation and sustainability.

Stage: Pre-Seed.
